ABDUL WAHEED KHAN, Via email

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities, especially the Honourable Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan, to a serious issue. One year ago, my elder brother Mohammad Ismail Khan, a veteran journalist, was brutally murdered in Islamabad under mysterious circumstances. The police are still clueless and there is no headway in the investigation. Ismail was working as a journalist for the last 30 years. He was working as the Resident Editor of the Pakistan Press International (PPI), a news agency, in Islamabad at the time of his murder by unidentified people at midnight of October 31/November 1, 2006. Almost a whole year has passed, yet there is no headway in the investigations to find the murderers. I appeal through your widely-circulated and recognised newspaper to the CJ to take suo motu notice of the brutal murder of Ismail Khan and provide justice to our family.
